This is the main world building hub for Nashrana, my world-in-development. This started out as an Ask tumblr, but has evolved to involve more world building aspects and my other art as well. If you have questions, feel free to ask Wys, it has many answers waiting for you to hear.

A couple of images from Inktober 2022 that I forgot to upload. The first is (finally) another of my “Bone Granny” character from Nashrana. I still need to name her. The 2nd might be a character or something I add as well, but if not, I at least feel like it was thematic. I’m hoping to have more things to update/post soon!

My Tumblr experience: daily routine of reporting/blocking spam bots as my main interaction.

Hey all, it’s been a while! This year, I participated in NaNoWriMo (National November Writing Month) and used the chance to whip up a short story related to some of the world building for Nashrana. It features an interaction between two characters I honestly never intended to have meet, but I think that this development has been far more interesting. It’s also given me some ideas for things to draw out and what I’ll want to expand more on as I build more of the world and story. As I may have mentioned before, I want to turn this concept into a comic or graphic novel, so I think that this is a good way to practice more of the exposition of world building and take it to work on visual concepts. I’m excited to explore more ideas this way, and hope you all enjoy reading through what I put up as well! Anyways, the short story is under the cut; enjoy!

So, a friend if mine has got me working on something for NaNoWriMo this year, and I have decided ti make it related to Nashrana! I am hoping it’ll help me flesh out some more of the world as well as some character relationships–some of which I honestly didn’t expect to have established! I also hope to find some things from this work that I may be able to draw more of (character designs, scenes, etc.). It’s been a while since I have written anything, but I will go ahead and post the finished product here! Stay tuned!

Decided that this year, for Inktober, instead of trying daily pieces, I will do larger pieces. I took a trip and did a little something, but I am somewhat behind. Gonna try to wrap up/start some things to work on in the coming weeks!

How do the cultures and civilizations of your world view space and the cosmos?

— Questions for Wys grimhood1

So this has been sitting here for a few years now and I have been thinking how best to answer it.

The short version is that it varies upon culture and group. The longer answer is that some groups within Nashrana view the space and cosmos as an expanse that they exist within, similar to our general understanding of space (but replace atoms and more scientific theory with mana as the source of energy that powers the universe). Other groups anthropomorphize the cosmos and treat spacial bodies as deities and worship them. Others view the sky and space as a sort of veil holding the world within, like the shell of an egg holding a yolk–created by outside entities or by the world itself. Of course, no one in Nashrana fully understands space and the cosmos; this can make for some heated debates in some circles. Hope that answers your question a bit; I don’t want to spoil anything for anybody who still follows this blog!

I’ve been thinking about one of my characters from the Nashrana world I’ve been working on (I’d say off and on, but much more “off” lately). I intend to work on a new drawing featuring “bone granny” (name still pending), and I’ve actually been thinking about her skills and the state of magic in that world. I think I’ll do a bit of a lore update when I complete that image, but it’s nice to have thoughts about some of the head worlds I’d put off for so long.

Now, I don’t know if I’ll be delving back into either Nashrana or anything any time soon, but I do hope to start considering more of the world and penning things down (to some extent). Hope to show you all some more art, concepts, and world building soon!

Hey, it’s been forever, right? Life has been busy and most of the art I have been doing hasn’t exactly been related to my head worlds or world building. However, I do have a few pieces to upload from last year! Below are images of Yula, Aix, Philo, and Drayden that I did for Inktober 2021; I had a lot of fun using my gold POSCA pen, as you can see from the images below. I am not sure if/when I may get into more serious world building again, but I do think I will start to focus more on fleshing out the world and telling some stories. For those of you who still follow me, if there are any specific characters you want to know about, send me a message/ask! I may make a separate post about it later on as well, so enjoy this crumb of art for now, and hope to post again soon.

I saw this somewhere on Twitter, and thought it would be good to post here! Gives me a chance to explain more about my OC’s, so feel free to send some asks and numbers!
